Dynamic Women Gala

Updated: 3 days ago

National Museum of Women in the Arts | Washington, DC

The Dynamic Women Gala marked an important moment for DC Magazine Modern Luxury — the launch of its inaugural Dynamic Women publication. Hosted at the National Museum of Women in the Arts, the evening brought together leaders across business, culture and the arts to celebrate women shaping Washington, DC and beyond.
We partnered with Ida Rose Events to design the floral and spatial elements for the evening, creating moments that felt intentional, immersive and worthy of a first-of-its-kind celebration.

A Statement Installation for the Entry

At the heart of the event was a large-scale installation designed to anchor the entry experience and transform the room once guests stepped inside. Suspended beneath the museum’s grand chandeliers, the structure created a dramatic focal point — one that welcomed guests, framed the space and later became the backdrop for dancing and celebration throughout the night.
The goal was to create a sense of scale without overpowering the architecture. Lush greenery and florals softened the formality of the space while still allowing the historic details of the museum to shine.

Designing Tables That Invite Conversation

Beyond the statement moment, we focused on the guest tables — particularly the head table — as places where design could quietly elevate the experience.
Rather than tall arrangements, we created low, sculptural centerpieces that encouraged conversation across the table. Each piece combined driftwood, orchids, tulips, moss and natural textures, creating a layered, nature-inspired look that felt organic yet refined.
The tablescape was intentionally rich in pattern, texture and contrast — mixing florals, textiles, glassware and candlelight to add depth without visual noise. The result felt warm, intimate and considered — a counterbalance to the scale of the room

A Night That Balanced Beauty and Function

From the entry installation to the tables, every design choice was made to support how guests would move, gather and experience the evening. The space evolved throughout the night — from arrival, to dinner, to dancing — while maintaining a cohesive visual language.
