When Del Mar approached us about a permanent floral installation for their terrazza (terrace), the brief was clear: the space already had character. Bold color. Strong architectural details. A sense of place that didn’t need to be reinvented.
Our role wasn’t to overpower the terrazza — it was to enhance it.
Del Mar’s terrazza is a central part of the dining experience, and any design intervention needed to feel intentional, layered, and timeless rather than decorative for decoration’s sake.
Designing for a Space with a Point of View

One of the most interesting challenges of this project was restraint.
The terrazza already featured saturated tones and architectural texture, which meant florals had to work with the space, not compete against it. Instead of introducing bold new colors, we focused on structure and movement — letting form do the work.
We anchored the design around trellises, using them as a framework rather than a focal point. From there, we layered in climbing florals and vines, creating a garden-like rhythm that felt organic and immersive without overwhelming the existing palette.
The result was a terrazza that felt softened and elevated — as though the space had slowly grown into itself.
