The CLF Effect: Designing an Experience Around Influence
Some events celebrate a moment. Others tell the story of everything that led up to it. For the CLF Effect, hosted by Andreessen Horowitz's Cultural Leadership Fund, the challenge wasn't simply to create a beautiful environment. It was to make impact visible. The event was designed to reflect the fund's history, milestones, and the far-reaching influence it has had within the technology ecosystem and beyond. The Floral Guru was brought in to transform a blank venue into an immersive experience—one that invited guests to move through the story rather than simply observe it.
Starting With a Blank Canvas

When we first entered the space, there was very little to work with. No defining architectural features. No built-in focal points. No natural narrative. But that blankness created an opportunity. Rather than designing around existing elements, we were able to build the experience from the ground up, shaping how guests would move through the environment and engage with the story being told.
The event's central theme focused on the ripple effect of influence—how a single investment, decision, or opportunity can create lasting impact over time. That idea became the foundation for every design choice that followed.
Custom Fabrication Meets Storytelling
Along the perimeter of the space, a series of custom-fabricated milestone displays highlighted key moments in the Cultural Leadership Fund's journey. Each installation was built specifically for the event, combining printed acrylic panels, custom structures, integrated lighting, and natural design elements. The goal was to create displays that felt substantial and architectural while remaining approachable and engaging. Organic botanical accents softened the clean lines of the fabrication, creating balance throughout the room. The result felt elevated and contemporary—professional without feeling corporate. This combination of fabrication, environmental design, and event floral elements is central to how The Floral Guru approaches brand activation projects and experiential installations.
Creating a Space That Reflected Impact
What made the CLF Effect successful wasn't the scale of any individual design element. It was the way every component worked together to support a larger narrative.
Lighting directed attention. Materials created texture. Layout encouraged exploration. Every detail was designed to help guests absorb the story naturally as they moved through the space. The final environment felt thoughtful, immersive, and deeply connected to the mission behind the event. Rather than creating spectacle for its own sake, the installation translated influence, momentum, and legacy into a physical experience—one that guests could see, walk through, and connect with.
